COMMUNITY OUTREACH

As a leader in credentialing for radiologic technologists, we feel it’s important to give back to our community. At ARRT, we support the profession in many ways: by providing financial assistance to help people become R.T.s, by recognizing technologists who go the extra mile, and by supporting industry organizations that seek to advance the profession.

CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS

Support of the ASRT Foundation Campaign

ARRT's pledge of $250,000 to the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Foundation’s 30th anniversary campaign helped the Foundation reach its $1 million fundraising milestone. The campaign will fund a range of scholarship, grant, and other special programs that provide financial assistance and support to educators, students, and clinical staff in our profession. GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS

Royce Osborn Minority Student Scholarship

ARRT believes that everyone deserves a chance at pursuing the goal of becoming a radiologic technologist. To help minority students ease the financial burden of an educational program, we created the Royce Osborn Minority Student Scholarship. It awards five $4,000 scholarships per year to minority students in entry-level educational programs (for Radiography, Sonography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Radiation Therapy, or Nuclear Medicine Technology). The scholarship is funded through an endowment that ARRT established; it also receives contributions from individual donors. Contact ASRT to learn more about applying.

Annual Grants

We’ve partnered with three professional societies to award 65 $500 grants per year to technologists. These grants help defray the cost of continuing education activities, postprimary application fees, professional courses, and educational products. Learn more:

SUPPORT FOR LOCAL CHAPTERS OF PROFESSIONAL SOCIETIES

ARRT partners with industry organizations and professional societies throughout the country. We provide resources—such as informational materials, brochures, and giveaways—for local chapter meetings and conferences. Our Trustees, executive team, and staff also contribute their time by speaking at chapter and affiliate conferences and by leading seminars. Recently, we supported local chapters of:

  • The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT)
  • The Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI)
  • The Society for MR Radiographers & Technologists (SMRT)

I AM THE GOLD STANDARD

In 2016, ARRT created I Am the Gold Standard, a recognition program for R.T.s. To be considered for the honor, nominees had to meet a range of criteria, such as making a positive difference in patient care, volunteering, leading improvement efforts in the workplace, and/or participating in meaningful research. Three winners receive airfare, hotel, and conference registration for a national society conference of their choice in the continental U.S.
