CE Probation

To maintain your ARRT credential(s), you’ll need to complete and report Continuing Education (CE) activities every two years. This helps ensure you stay current in your field and maintain high standards of patient care.

  • Earn CE credits during your biennium—the two-year period ending on the last day of the month before your birth month.
  • Report your CE credits every other year during the renewal process.
Remember: The deadline for completing your CE activities is one month earlier than the deadline for reporting CE and annual renewal.
  • Learn more about timing and deadlines for your CE biennium and your annual renewal period.

If these requirements aren’t met, you'll be assigned CE probation.

CE Probation Status

You’ll be assigned CE probation status if:

  • You don’t complete or report your CE activities on time
  • You submit incomplete CE documentation
  • We can’t verify your participation in your reported CE activities

How to Resolve CE Probation

A CE probation period lasts for six months. During that time, you’ll:

  • Complete and/or report your missing credits
  • Submit your activities using our online CE probation form
  • Pay a $100 probation fee

Once we confirm your activities, we’ll remove your CE probation status.

Note: CE credits you earn during your probation period won’t count toward your new biennium.

What Happens If You Don’t Report CE by the End of Probation?

Your certification and registration will be discontinued if you don’t complete and report your required CE activities and pay the CE probation fee by the end of your six-month probation period.

  • You'll need to retake and pass the appropriate exam to regain your credential(s).
  • If you earned credentials via the postprimary eligibility pathway, you must first retake and pass the supporting category exam before retaking the postprimary exam.
