Advocacy
ARRT awards credentials to qualified radiologic technologists (R.T.s) in medical imaging and radiation therapy. Our mission is to promote safe, high-quality care through credentialing, collaboration, and advocacy. We are committed to actively advocating on behalf of R.T.s that promote the best possible patient outcomes.
At the Federal level, our advocacy efforts focus on passing legislation, creating regulations, and addressing medical reimbursement issues. State-level initiatives include mandating licensure and guiding its application.
Core Advocacy Commitments
ARRT’s advocacy activities are built on three principles:
- Helping develop and support federal and state laws that improve quality and safety standards
- Promoting efforts that require professionals to have consistent qualifications in medical imaging and radiation therapy
- Advocating on behalf of registered technicians, in all disciplines, to promote safe high-quality patient care
Why Advocacy Matters?
ARRT’s commitment to advocacy is rooted in ensuring R.T.s have a strong voice in shaping policies that protect patients, uphold professional standards, and advance the quality of medical imaging and radiation therapy in the United States. Through collaboration with legislators and partners, we help strengthen recognition of the vital role technologists play in delivering safe, accurate, and trusted care.
