ARRT strives to produce comprehensive, accurate, and fair examinations that cover the knowledge and cognitive skills required to practice in the fields of medical imaging, interventional procedures, and radiation therapy. Therefore, task inventories, examination content specifications, and clinical requirements are reviewed and updated on a regular basis.
To meet future education needs and promote consistency across ARRT disciplines, four major universal content categories have been established for the examination content specifications: Patient Care, Safety, Image Production, and Procedures.
The task inventories, content specifications, and clinical requirements for sonography and vascular sonography have been updated and will go into effect as noted below. A review of the practice analysis process for each discipline, including summarized professional comments received regarding the proposed changes, will be published in each respective Practice Analysis Report.
