CREATING AND ADMINISTERING EXAMS FOR STATE ENTITIES

ARRT is the nation’s largest credentialing organization for radiologic technologists—and we work with many states to administer their licensing exams. Currently, we administer the following ARRT exams, on behalf of states, to their licensing candidates:

  • Radiography
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • Radiation Therapy
  • Certain state-approved postprimary disciplines

ARRT also developed (and administers) three additional exams specifically for state licensing purposes:

  • Limited Scope of Practice in Radiography
  • Bone Densitometry Equipment Operator
  • Fluoroscopy

Because each state has different licensing needs—based on its unique rules, regulations, and legislation—we work one-on-one with states to find the best exam solutions for their needs. If your state is interested in working with ARRT for exam administration, review our state licensing handbooks or contact our office to discuss your options.

HELPING STATES ADVOCATE FOR LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

We believe that mandatory state licensing for radiologic technologists is in the best interests of patients. Our Government Affairs Department participates in advocacy efforts on behalf of states that don’t have such laws. If your state doesn’t have licensing requirements, contact us to learn how we can help.

STUDENTS AND R.T.S

If you’re a student or R.T., learn more about the difference between ARRT and state licensing. You can also contact your state entity directly to obtain licensing requirements, exam eligibility rules, and applications—and to see if ARRT administers exams for your state.
