The ARRT Board of Trustees recently approved the following clarification additions to the Radiography Content Specifications:
- Units of radiation measurement listed in the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurement (NCRP) Report No.160 for absorbed dose, dose equivalent, exposure, effective dose and air kerma were added for clarification.
The ARRT Board of Trustees also approved the following clarification additions to the Radiography Didactic and Clinical Competency Requirements:
- “Radiographic” was added to the column headings on two pages clarifying that the examinations that follow are NOT to be performed fluoroscopically.
- “Patient Recumbent” was added to two examinations clarifying that the examinations are NOT to be performed upright.
- “Not Swallowing Dysfunction Study” was added clarifying that a swallowing dysfunction study is NOT to be used to fulfill an esophagus competency requirement.
