You Can’t Earn CE for Being a Clinical Instructor

Be aware that ARRT doesn’t accept continuing education (CE) credits for clinical instructorship. If you’re a clinical instructor, you can earn CE for preapproved CE activities such as improving educational design or increasing participant engagement.

Is This a New Policy?

No.

Although it’s been a rule for more than five years, some R.T.s continue to report clinical instructorships as CE. Doing so can affect your standing with ARRT. We’re reminding you so that you don’t run into the possibility of CE probation or reinstatement.

For more on this policy, refer to our newly published Education Requirements for Obtaining and Maintaining Certification and Registration.

Questions?

Keep in mind that credentialing organizations have differing policies. When in doubt, always check. Use the Message Us function in your online ARRT account. Or call us at 651.687.0048 and select the option for renewal, reinstatement, or continuing education.
