REMIND STUDENTS TO REPORT ALL FELONIES AND MISDEMEANORS TO US

ARRT has always required students to report all felonies and misdemeanors to us. Because a growing number of jurisdictions now classify ordinary traffic tickets as misdemeanors, candidates for ARRT credentials might receive speeding, seatbelt, or parking tickets that they must report to us. 

It’s each student’s responsibility to find out if a ticket constitutes a misdemeanor or felony. In most cases, they can find the classification of an offense online or by contacting the circuit court in the county where the violation occurred. 

Students must report any violations that take place before they apply for an ARRT credential. If violations take place after they apply, candidates must report those violations within 30 days of the occurrence. Just fill out this form.

The good news? Even though students must report traffic tickets that meet the criteria above, ARRT doesn’t consider speeding or parking tickets to affect patient safety. We typically won’t sanction people for minor traffic violations. Students are more likely to incur ethics issues if they neglect to report felonies or misdemeanors.
