Updates to Discipline Documents Now Live & Practice Analysis Surveys Coming Soon
Practice analysis work for both Breast Sonography (BS) and Computed Tomography (CT) is complete. As a result, new content specifications for Breast Sonography and Computed Tomography are now live and can be accessed on the ARRT website. The updates will go into effect on Sept. 1, 2026.
New Radiography (R), Nuclear Medicine Technology (N), and Radiation Therapy (T) Discipline Documents are scheduled to be approved this winter. New content specifications and clinical competency requirements for these disciplines should be available on the website in March 2026.
Every five years, ARRT conducts a practice analysis for each discipline to ensure its standards reflect current entry-level job responsibilities.
Based on those findings, our practice analysis committees make recommendations for updates to our clinical requirements and to content specifications for our exams. Details are available in ARRT Discipline Documents.
Your Input Matters: Practice Analysis Surveys for Cardiac Interventional Radiography and Vascular Interventional Radiography
In January 2026, ARRT will be sending practice analysis surveys to a random sample of R.T.s in both Cardiac Interventional (CI) Radiography and Vascular Interventional (VI) Radiography disciplines.
Your input helps us better understand the job responsibilities of R.T.s employed in those disciplines. Thank you in advance. This information is used to revise the task inventory, content specifications, Continuing Qualifications Requirements (CQR) structured self-assessment content specifications and clinical requirements.
A comprehensive report for all completed practice analysis projects can be found on our website.
