Remind Your Students of Ethics Violation Process

If your students have potential ethics violations, remind them to follow our process:

  • If they won’t graduate from your education program for eight months or more, they should submit an Ethics Review Preapplication.
  • If they’ll graduate from your education program in the next eight months, they should report the potential ethics violation on their Application for Certification and Registration.
  • They shouldn’t submit ethics documentation before submitting either an Ethics Review Preapplication or an Application for Certification and Registration. Doing so can delay the ethics review process.
  • They must notify us within 30 calendar days of any potential ethics violations that take place after they apply for ARRT certification and registration.

In addition, only students who might have violated ARRT’s Standards of Ethics should submit an Ethics Review Preapplication. Most students don’t need to complete that step.

Finally, students should know that we can’t answer questions about the potential outcomes of ethics reviews over the phone. Ethics reviews can take months to resolve.
