To apply for the R.R.A. credential, you’ll have to meet the following education requirements:

Earn a bachelor’s degree

You'll need to earn a bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes. View a list of ARRT-recognized accreditation agencies

ARRT Credentials in Radiography

You'll also need to be certified and registered with ARRT in Radiography before you can pursue an R.R.A. credential. 

Clinical Experience

Another prerequisite for applying is to have at least one year of acceptable clinical experience in radiography. Details of acceptable experience can be found in the R.R.A. handbook

RA Educational Program

This requirement states you'll need to complete an ARRT-approved radiologist assistant educational program (including both didactic and clinical education competency requirements).
