Continued Certification and Registration
The 'R' in R.T. refers to Registered; "T" is for Technologist. Once certified and registered, Registered
Technologists must renew their certification and registration each year in order to maintain the credential.

ARRT offers two ways to verify whether an individual is certified and registered, both of which
are available 24/7 and updated daily.
Check certification and registration status by providing a technologist's last name and the first
few characters of the first name.

With the required identification information, anyone may verify ARRT certification and registration
of an individual by using the interactive voice response (IVR) system. Phone ARRT
at (651) 687-0048 and press 1 for the first menu option, 2 for the second option,
and finally 1. Next, enter two of three required identifiers for the person to be
verified: ARRT ID number, birth date, and/or social security number.

R.T.s must annually renew certification and registration in order to use the
R.T. designation. The annual renewal deadline is the last day of the individual's
birth month. Learn more about renewal
timing, eligibility requirements, CE and CQ reporting, renewal options, and annual
R.T.s who do not renew by the last day of their birth month may apply
for and pay an additional fee to reinstate certification and registration.
