The 'R' in R.T. refers to Registered; "T" is for Technologist. Once certified, Registered Technologists must renew their registration each year in order to maintain the certificate. Read more about registration and how it differs from certification.

Checking Status

ARRT offers two ways to verify whether an individual is registered, both of which are available 24/7 and updated daily.

Online Directory

Check registration status by providing a technologist's last name and the first few characters of the first name. Click here to verify credentials.

Phone Verification

With the required identification information, anyone may verify ARRT registration of an individual by using the interactive voice response (IVR) system. Phone ARRT at (651) 687-0048 and press 1 for the first menu option, 2 for the second option, and finally 1. Next, enter two of three required identifiers for the person to be verified: ARRT ID number, birth date, and/or social security number. Read more about other services available especially for R.T.s through the IVR system.

R.T.s must annually renew registration of an ARRT certificate in order to use the R.T. designation. The annual renewal deadline is the last day of the individual's birth month. Learn more about renewal timing, eligibility requirements, CE and CQ reporting, renewal options, and annual fees.

R.T.s who do not renew registration by the last day of their birth month may apply for and pay an additional fee to reinstate registration of their certificate(s). Read about the reinstatement process.
