Clinical Experience Requirements
As part of the educational eligibility requirement for post-primary certification and registration, candidates complete a set of clinical experience requirements that represent current imaging and clinical practice. The requirements for each discipline are listed below, and candidates are encouraged to document the procedures as they complete them using the tool available through My ARRT Info.
Candidates using ARDMS or NMTCB registration as a supporting category should complete this form and mail it to the ARRT office. Students currently in educational programs may also begin documenting their procedures for post-primary certification and registration online; just complete this form and mail it to ARRT. ARRT will process your form and send you a letter with information to assist you with accessing the online system.
For some disciplines, there may be two sets of requirements listed with different effective and end dates. Each discipline’s certification and registration program undergoes periodic updates to make sure that the requirements represent current practice. When ARRT introduces a new set of requirements, an effective date is established. Candidates beginning the documentation process on or after the effective date must use the newly revised clinical experience requirements.
Candidates who began documenting procedures under the previous requirements may continue documenting procedures under those requirements. However all requirements must be completed and an application received by ARRT prior to the end of the two-year period noted on the requirements. Call (651) 687-0048, ext. 8570, with any questions.

Future Clinical Experience Requirements (effective on/after the dates listed)
The following future clinical experience requirements are not yet in effect; however, ARRT provides these documents for planning purposes. Candidates that begin documenting clinical procedures on or after the effective date listed must use these requirements.
